A Game Called Life - Waël el Allouche
01.04.18 - 30.04.18
Waël el Allouche (1990, TN / NL) opened his studio at Amsterdam Central Station. The audience got an insight into his thoughts, interests and working process.
El Allouche studied at Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. He works at the intersection of art, design, architecture and society. In his work he examines the relationship between reality and abstractions such as models and algorithms. In this way he translates phenomena and objects from his environment into digital data, which he then converts into physical objects with a self-built 3D printer.
In his temporary studio in Lil’ Amsterdam, El Allouche took the tile floor as a starting point. What kind of art does that produce? The result was exhibited at the end of the working period.
